WOYWW Feb2/11

It is Wednesday and that means it is time for WOYWW!  Go to The Stamping Ground and you can magically be transported all over the world to get a sneak peek at all sorts of artists and crafters desks!

Okay, I am not showing much of my desk today because there is really nothing of note on it except for this sketch.  Yes, I did this sketch!!  I can hardly believe it because I have never been able to draw anything!  But after my little playtime with my Suzi Blu stamps a couple weeks back, I started to research her a little and found that she has on-line classes.  I decided to start with her Goddess and Poet class to try out her "stylized faces".  So I downloaded the classes, drew a few spheres, 4 eyes, 2 noses and 2 mouths.  And tonight I decided to give a whole face a try!  This is my first face I have ever drawn and I am very pleased with it!

Happy WOYWW everyone!

That is an amazing first drawing .... I would be quite chuffed. We see so many beautiful whimsical paintings that cost a fortune you might be on to something. Thanks for dropping by. The 'little red thing" is my tape runner!!! when I see the big pink or yellow guns people have on their desk I hide my small tape runner so he doesn't feel inferior. He must of sneaked out for the photo.

You should be pleased with what you have drawn too. That is very good indeed and wow - first time! Suzi Blu does some great work on her classes, she is a real character. Keep going and have a go at incorporating some of your artwork in your cardmaking.

I'd be really pleased with this too- its amazing how we can surprise ourselves sometimes isn't it? There is a really good book called 'Drawing on the right side of the brain',which I found helpful.Happy WOYWW

Well done you - download the classes, read, learn, apply yourself and hey presto - look at what you can do! You'll be hooked...a drawing a day, a fellow WOYWWer did last year and she loved the challenge but mostly the results were FAB!

Fabulous sketch for your first one! Faces are probably one of the hardest to draw!

Hi Karen!
hope your sister likes the journal!- how cute are you to give it away!???
Maybe another one will "sing to you" later!?
I cant believe it's your first attempt at drawing a face- WELL DONE!
I'm a published illustrator and just dont do people- they are so hard- you have done a fantastic job.
The one hint i'll have with any drawings is PRACTICE- and use heaps of reference materials. COz if you dont practice you'll never improve- thats probably why i can draw animals and not people- coz i never draw them!LOL
happy drawing- cant wait to see your next picture!

Good job on the sketch - faces are incredibly difficult to draw! Have a great day.
