WOYWW Jan 19/11 & Suzi Blu I Love You!!!

Yay!  It's time for WOYWW again!  Wednesdays are the day where crafty artistic bloggers from all over the world take a picture and post a link at The Stamping Ground and then everyone can take a peek at the different workdesks!  Try it, it's fun!

On my desk we have a bunch of Suzi Blu stamped images.  And a cardboard box in the process of being covered over in scraps of patterned papers.  You see, I got a set of Suzi Blu stamps before xmas and they have been sitting in the cardboard box they were mailed in because they fit so nicely.  But it was a plain boring cardboard box.  So I had an idea ... why not stamp the box with the images? No, why not stamp and colour the images and stick them on the box?!  Better cover the box in patterned paper first so there are no gaps between the images showing the cardboard.  Good.
And then, why not put all sorts of embellishments on the images on the box?

This turned out to be so much fun! I painted some of the images,  coloured some with markers and even got out oil pastels to colour a couple!  And now my Suzy Blu box is all pretty and sparkly and fun!

Thank you for stopping by to look at my blog, sorry the photos were not there. I think I have sorted it out for the moment - a bit more work needed to deal with things permanently. I love your idea of decorating the box, so much nicer than a plain storage box.

Thanks for stopping by katemade designs. I made the rolling card out of an old orange crate my mother used to use to hold record albums. I turned it so it faced up, added wheels and a couple of hanging file holders from the office supply. Works great. I have the papers (8.5x11) arranged by SU families but I am going to be changing it soon to be by color because it makes more sense not that I no longer sell for them.

Hi Karen - didn't know Suzi had her own rubber stamps. Must check these out. I met her at CHA last year - if you look on my blog I have a photo of her with me. Wonder if she will be there this time? Watch out for my report on CHA with photos and who knows - maybe Suzi again.
I'll tell her about your blog and get her to look at what you made - it is fabulous. Love it.

Karen - got so carried away with seeing Suzi B's stamps I forgot to answer you. My friend does sell a few stamping related things from home. The room I showed is her workdesk but where she occasionally holds a workshop. The stuff for sale is at the bottom of that room on the carousels. This must be about my fifth year with her (we stay a month or so) and go to CHA but before and after I get to play with all of her stuff and do whatever I want to do. Last year I did some workshops too. You could check them out on my blog a year ago.
Thanks for stopping by and sorry about the two posts (but that makes it good as you have one more comment now)

answer for Cardarian: you can get the Suzi Blu stamps at http://www.eclecticpaperie.com/ . They are made by Unity so they are probably available elsewhere too. Eclectic Paperie also has some for pre-order that are being released soon!
(I am going to put this as a comment on your blog but will also leave this for anyone else interested!)

Back again Karen, you had asked me about that box, I didn't decorate it, I bought it that way. I've got three large storage boxes in different designs. Not only are they're pretty but they're very functional too.

You're bursting with ideas at the moment, aren't you?! And a great idea that one is too.

It's funny, I was just admiring your tags on your blog header again and thinking how amazing it is how you can make such different looks with one die - my pink felt flowers are made with that one too!
