A Xmas Tag and more cards

I am still working on Xmas cards and tags.  A few more finished in the last few days!  I have made a few of each design because once I have everything out, I might as well make at least a couple of each.  I love Christmas and it is so fun to have the Christmas music playing as I work away on these cards!
I still want to make a few more yet and will post them up.  Only a week and a day til Xmas!!
Merry Xmas!!!!!!!!

A Xmas Gift from a Lovely Crafter

Look what came in the mail!  A Xmas gift from the wonderful and talented Sam at Hettiecraft!  She made me a beautiful card and sent me an adorable snowglobe ornament with my name in it and lovely red ribbon! And..... one of her fabulously gorgeous Trunk Books!  I have taken a few pictures of this book
to show some of the detail and care that has gone into making it!  There are pockets and envelopes and all sorts of decorated papers! And in the pockets are tags and tickets that can be pulled out to use as well!  Wow, this is really a work of art and I will treasure it always, Sam!  Thank you so much!

A few Xmas cards

Here are the first few Xmas cards of this year.  There are plenty more to be made yet and I will post them up as I go.
The first one has a very vintage feel to it and I just adore the mouse stamp!
The second one is fun and feminine and I will make more cards using those beautiful roses!
And the last one is a very clean and simple style that I stamped by colouring the snowflake stamps with my Faber-Castell Pitt Big Brush Pens and then later went over one snowflake with a Sakura sparkle pen.  I made 6 of that last card because it was so easy!

I'm still here!

Yes, I am still around but have not been doing as much crafting as I would like as of late.  Nothing is wrong, just day to day living taking up all my time :)
I made a couple of Christmas cards in the last few days and I will post pictures asap.  My camera battery died and is now recharging!
So until then, here is a picture from last Xmas of my dog, Brighton, opening her Xmas present!

It is time for WOYWW where creative crafty people from all over the internet post picture s of what is on their workdesk!  You can go here to the Stamping Ground and play too!
So what is going on here?  I am getting ready to carve a couple Jack O Lanterns!  One is going to be a witch and the other will be her cat.  No carving done yet but they have their costumes on, ha ha!  I will post pictures of them again when they are actual Jack O Lanterns and not just pumpkins wearing costumes!
Thanks for visiting and Happy Halloween!

This picture is actually my dining room table because we needed a bigger space than my desk as my sister and my niece and nephews were all getting crafty!!  It was so much fun and everyone made some fabulous creations!  I wish my sister and her kids lived in town so we could do this more often, it was so much fun!

Get Well Card

Here is a Get Well card I made for my DH's aunt.  Nothing super fancy just a nice sweet card that I think she will like!
That bunny is soooo cute!

Making cards is fun!

I haven't made any cards for awhile and then decided I wanted to make one for one of my nephews' birthday.  Which then led to making one for his brother and sister too since I had not made them a card for their past birthdays and hope they don't mind getting them now!
They were fun to make and I have to say I am pretty proud of the tree on the 2nd card!  It is made from Tim Holtz Kraft Glassine paper and I just drew and cut out a tree shape and then crumpled it up!  So easy and yet effective!
 Thanks for visiting and looking!

Journal Pages

Some more journal pages that I have done recently.  I have taken apart a coil-bound journal that has beautiful watercolor/mixed media pages so I can try out working on loose pages.  I have the covers and the wire coil tucked away so that I can put it all back together at the end.  It is nice to work on the pages free from the book but on the other hand I do enjoy having them bound together so I can flip thru and see my progress as I am working on the journal.  I will continue to work on both this loose page journal and my bound journals and see if I gravitate towards one more than the other.

Princess Lollipop

I have finished the teeny tiny painting (2"x2") for my friend's dollhouse!  It is a little picture of her sweet little dog Suzy.  One of her nicknames is Princess Lollipop, so of course a princess needs a crown, right?  And a little plaque with her name.  And some gold leaf too!
And of course a collar made of jewels!  It's probably a good thing this canvas was so little or who knows what else I may have added!

WOYWW Aug 31/11

Wow,  I haven't done a WOYWW for awhile now and I sure have missed it!  Especially all the wonderful WOYWWers I was meeting thru this blog hop.  My schedule at work changed and therefore my routine changed a bit and I couldn't seem to post a WOYWW picture in time.  Mind you this is very late as Wednesday is drawing to a end even here in Canada.  And if you don't know what WOYWW is just pop over here to Julia's blog and find out!  And join in too!  You post a picture of What's On Your Workdesk (this) Wednesday and then join the blogroll and visit people desks all over the world!
What is here on my desk is a teeny tiny canvas that is just 2" x 2".  I am making a little painting for a friend's dollhouse.  In this picture I have just put a wash on the canvas so far, so you will have to come back to see what the finished painting will look like!
Thanks for stopping by!

Journal Pages

I haven't been blogging much lately as I have not really been working on any "projects".  I have been working in my art journal and these are 2 pages that  I have completed.  I have some other pages in varying stages of completion and I might post them as I finish them.  I also have started a couple of online classes and the 2nd page here is from one of them, the True To You 2 class with Samantha Kira.

Brighton Boy

I made a little painting for my DH.  He grew up in Brighton, England so I put him on Brighton Beach as a little boy.  Again, this piece is covered with beeswax which I love applying!

A Boy and His Dog

This is a painting I did for the Suzi Blu Lalala class.  I made it for a friend's birthday.  He has an adorable little dog that he loves dearly and this drawing of her is not too far off the mark!  I have since given him the painting and he said he loves it so I am happy!

What a Lovely Surprise!

Wow, look what I received in the mail today!  A gorgeous mixed media canvas made by the wonderfully creative and talented Monique!  Go here to see her blog and more of her fabulous creations.
And, as if the painting wasn't enough, she also sent me all sorts of other goodies too!  A great card she made and a fabulous tag both using Stampotique stamps.  Monique is part of the Stampotique Design Team blog and she always comes up with these cool creations!   Also, a beautiful hanging piece of art with stamped tiles and beads, all wired together expertly!   And also all sorts of papers and ephemera that I will try to use on my own mixed media ... although it will be hard to use them as they are so beautiful.
Thank you so much Monique!  You really made my day!

Suzi Blu Craft Bag

Remember that piece of canvas that I had stamped with a Suzi Blu stamp and painted?  This is what it was for!   It is a craft tote embellished and altered Suzi Blu style.  You want to know how to make one too?  Go here and see the video!  It is simple and fun to make and I love how it turned out!  I may even use it just as an everyday bag!

Friends Forever

This is the first tiny painting I did for the new Suzi Blu on-line class called La La La.  It is on a little 4" x 4" canvas and was so much fun to make!  It is supposed to look like it is old and perhaps from a vintage children's storybook.  It was the first time I have used beeswax and now I want to beeswax everything!!  I have a few more projects still to make in this class and I am so looking forward to doing more!

Mini Smash Book

I made a mini Smash Book!  Or mini Junk Journal.  It is 5" x 5" so it would easily fit in a purse if desired.
I had been hearing about Smash Books on various blogs and had to see what they were.  They are also known as Junk Journals and are journals to put whatever you want into them.  You can paste in pretty things you like or use it to document a trip.... anything you want really, just paste it in and/or write it in.  I used a lot of pattern papers in mine and also a few pages that are white.  I added a few envelopes here and there to tuck things into as well.  Now that I have made a little one for practice, I will make a larger one too when I have time.  It was easy to make but I fussed with the cover for ages and that it was took the most amount of time.  Below are a few pictures of the inside...
