Mermaid Dream

I finished decorating my Dream sign and it was fun!  It has a little bit of everything and is very sparkly and colourful.  It is now hanging near my desk where I can easily see it to remind me to dream :)
And below is a picture of the Mermaid Paper Dolls that I made from the stamps I had on my desk a week back!  They are cute and their arms and bodies can be moved.  I am not sure what I will do with them yet.  Although, at some point I am going to make a Mermaid Journal for a Suzi Blu class that I am going to take, so one or both may end up in that journal.  For now they will probably just swim around my craft room!

WOYWW Mar30/11

Avert your eyes if you don't like messy!  It is Wednesday and that means it is time for WOYWW!  If you want to see more workdesks, some neat, some messy and who knows what else you may see, go to the Stamping Ground and have a peek or even better join in!
I am finally getting around to decorating/altering/embellishing the fun DREAM sign that I won from JoZart back in January (Thank you!).  And yes that is a hot glue gun, so you know there are going to be some burnt fingers soon!  I think I may have every embellishment I own on my desk!  I already painted and Stickled (sparkly glue) the wooden DREAM sign and now the big fun starts!
Happy WOYWW!

WOYWW Mar 23/11

It is WOYWW but today I am not showing much of my desk because I am working on a Top Secret project for a gift exchange on WOYWW in a few weeks time!  You can go over here to the Stamping Ground to find out more about the upcoming exchange and to check out fabulous workspaces from around the globe!
So I have been working on my WOYWW gift but do not want to show it and ruin the surprise for whoever my gift recipient will be.  So I moved it off the desk to show some yummy stash I got today at a lovely new craft store I visited today called Dangerously Crafty.  I had a wonderful chat with the owner and picked up a few goodies.  A couple of collage sheets, a sheet of paper dolls, 2 packs of stamps to make Mermaid paper dolls (!) and some little metal charms!  I am so glad I went to this store and I will be returning for sure!
Happy WOYWW everyone!

Birthday Card

This is the birthday card I was working on in the previous post.  It has a Suzi Blu stamped image that I coloured with watercolour crayons.  Very sweet and girly!

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

It's time for WOYWW again!  Do you like to have a peek at other people's workspaces?  Then pop on over to the Stamping Ground and you can see lots and lots of them!
Today on my desk, I am working on a birthday card.  It's a Suzi Blu stamp and I am colouring it with watercolour crayons.  And then there are some distress inks that I used to make a smooshy background that this image will be placed on once she is cut out.  But you can't see the background card properly because of the glare from the light.  And what else?  There is a little tin toward the upper right hand corner that I am in the process of altering.  It is the perfect size for my PaperArtsy mini stamps!  It was a Tazo Tea tin, so if you have some of those stamps and need the perfect storage container, now you know :)
Have a happy WOYWW everyone!

Suzi Blu project

I have finished my first Suzi Blu class portrait.  She originally had hair in my drawing but then after re-watching some Suzi Blu videos I decided that she would suit the "Mary" style.  The blue headdress has light molding paste under all the blue so it is full of texture! Mmmm!
I made a couple mistakes on this portrait but that is okay because it is all learning.  Overall, I am pleased with how it turned out!

Stylish Blogger Award!

The lovely Brenda at Butlers Abroad sent me a Stylish Blogger Award a little while back and I am finally catching up to posting it and passing it on!

So the rules are that I must list 7 random facts about myself and then pass the award to 7 bloggers.
Here are the random facts:
1.  I love purses!  All different styles and types.  I did have a large collection of purses but have recently purged a lot of them to make room for craft supplies!
2.  I love tea!  Especially Soy Chai Lattes and plain old orange pekoe with milk and honey.
3.  My two dogs are my fur-babies.  Some people may think it is crazy how much I love my dogs but I don't care.  I feel a bit sad for those people.
4.   I was a vegan for about 3 months (and a vegetarian for longer) but I am not right now.  But I do consider going back to it sometimes.
5.  I have been in the movie rental business for over 20 years and now co-own an independent video store.
6.  I met my husband in the video store (before I became co-owner)
7.  I would like to own a Mini Cooper car!

and I will pass this award on to the following people who can play along if they wish or just know that I really like their blogs :)
1.  Kips Cards
2.  BLUEFAIRY4U
3.  Gezzyb's Jots
4.  La-De-Dah
5.  Little Imperfections
6.  what's up roc
7.  carola bARTz

A Sweet & Sparkly Birthday Card

I have been away from my blog for over a week with a horrible flu (or as I call it The Plague.)  But here is a card I made for a sweet friend before I was sick.  A sweet Suzi Blu stamp that reminds of the recipient and her dog coloured with watercolour pencils.
And now hopefully regular posting will resume :)

WOYWW Mar 2/11

This is what is on my workdesk this week for WOYWW.  Want to see more fabulous desks and see what other crafty people are up to?  Go here to The Stamping Ground and join in!
My desk is somewhat tidy as I had finished colouring my faces and put away my pencil crayons.  Next I will put this drawing in my art journal and do an entry about sisters.  These two do not necessarily look like me and my sister but they made me think of me and my sister!
Thanks for stopping by and I will try to get to as many desks as I can but it may not be until Thursday as I have to work today.
xoxo
